Why did you choose Asters for your internship?
A year ago, I was studying at the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy on a grant I won. During my studies there, I learned a lot about Ukraine and found that Ukraine is quite an attractive object for research from the point of view of investment opportunities and as one of Poland's principal business partners. Thus, my master's degree thesis, which I will be defending in the summer, focuses on the investment climate research and comparative analysis of investors' rights protection in Ukraine and Poland.
Asters was my choice because the firm enjoys international acclaim, has a longstanding experience, and is top-rated by a number of international legal industry publications. Therefore, I approached Asters with a request for internship, and the firm's response with an invitation for an interview was quite prompt.
What impressions did the internship leave with you?
Asters is an up-to-date firm that upholds international standards. Professionalism can be perceived in everything, from correspondence with the personnel department, a welcome at the reception, to a later friendly discussion with an optimistically-minded partner! One can easily notice that all minute details are attended to – everything must be tip-top.
The internship provided me with an opportunity to see from the inside the operation of a legal market leader, shaped up my theoretical knowledge, and added practical dimension to my academic project. However, its major value is the work with my young colleagues and making new friends.
